RETAIL PROTECTIVE SERVICES / LOSS PREVENTION

With unemployment and costs of living increasing, so to do the rates of retail offending. Organised Retail Crime combining with opportunist offending create a myriad of problems for retailers, affecting not only profitability, but the safety and morale of staff and customers.

Demand for law enforcement attendance to other events puts strain on officers to to attend every event, leaving both victim and offender with the impression of little repercussions allowing the vicious cycle to continue.

All NZAP front line personnel are trained in the use of the Auror crime prevention platform.

Some common offences which are experienced every day;

  • Shoplifting

  • Fraud

  • Theft from other parties

  • Disorderly conduct

  • COVID-19 threats

  • Assault

  • Damage to property

  • Breach of trespass

  • Burglary

  • Robbery

To combat the above, reduce loss and to ensure the safety of staff and members of the public, NZAP employ the following;

Uniformed Officers

Uniformed officers are the first line of defence against retail crime. Representing both our clients' and NZAP interests in a friendly, professional manner, our uniformed officers keep up-to-date in real-time nearby events and offenders which have bearing on their immediate surroundings.

With a focus on deterrence and enforcement, uniformed officers are specifically trained in offender recognition and denial of entry, staff and public safety and protection, advanced first aid (physical and mental), conflict de-escalation & resolution, customer service, event reporting and communication with law enforcement.

CCTV Operators

Skilled in the use of technology, NZAP CCTV operators utilise every tool available including CCTV, licence plate and facial recognition (when available) to effectively identify, deny entry or monitor and apprehend offenders.

CCTV operators are extensively trained in offender recognition and denial of entry, staff and public safety and protection, advanced first aid (physical and mental), conflict de-escalation & resolution and event reporting and communication with law enforcement.

Due to the high levels of self-discipline and personal time-management skills required for this role, NZAP promote those who show exemplary performance as a uniformed officer.
