Little Chopper Feather Chopper

Now you can chop your own arrow feathers with this slick little chopper and feather trimmer from 3 Rivers Archery. NZAP stock many different feather profiles and sizes so you can custom fletch your arrow and get them just the way you want them. Little Chopper is a die-type cutter with a hardened tool-steel blade that will chop thousands of feathers without re sharpening. Use it to chop die cut feathers from any pre-ground full length feathers.

To use the Little Chopper, position a full-length feather in the chopper with the quill resting on the steel guide, close the blade onto the feather and give it a smart rap with a mallet or soft-faced hammer. With the 4 inch chopper, you can expect to get two chopped feathers from each full-length feather. Occasionally the full-length feathers are long enough for you to get two finished feathers, but you can't count on it.

The Tru Centre Arrow Shaft Taper Tool is the fastest and most accurate way to put an exact five degree (for points) and eleven degree (for nocks) taper on your wooden arrow shafts. Like all quality tools this one is expensive, but if you make a lot of wood arrows you'll never regret the investment. Comes complete with a double-ended cutter and collets for 5/16", 11/32", and 23/64" shafts. Blades are adjustable for optimum cutting efficiency; machined from aircraft-grade aluminium; and the blades are replaceable.

The Tru-Center Taper Tool comes complete with all of the components you need taper nock and point ends on all wooden shafting.

Economy Arrow Shaft Tapering Tool

The Economy Arrow Shaft Tapering Tool from Bearpaw Archery in Germany is a low-cost taper tool that works nearly as well ant tools costing much more. Plus it is small enough to carry in your arrow-repair kit or in your pocket. In spite of the low cost, this economy tool is plenty tough enough for all your home wood-arrow-building needs.

the Economy Taper Tool is available to fit three standard sizes of arrow shafts, 5/16, 11/32, and 23/64. Each tool has two cullers. One for tapering the nock end at 5 degrees and another for tapering the point end at 11 degrees.

Aluminum Arrow-Shaft Cutter

This dandy little tubing cutter from Vermont American is just the right size for trimming extra length off of aluminium arrow shafts.

To use the cutter simply clamp it on the arrow shaft until snug, then tighten the adjusting screw an additional 1/4 turn and rotate the cutter one complete turn around the shaft; tighten another 1/4 turn and rotate again. Repeat until the end of the shaft drops off. If you don't rush the job, you will be left with a perfectly square clean cut exactly where you want it.

Not for use on carbon shafts as it will crush the fibres and leave a ragged end that is not suitable for a proper arrow.

Arrow Straightener for Wood Arrows

Here is a handy item from Ace Archery Equipment that will interest anyone who shoots wood arrows. The Ace Arrow Straightener is built with a solid one-inch hexagonal aluminum handle and a solid brass roller attached with a hardened steel pin. It is design to straighten your raw wood arrow shafts and to keep your finished arrows straight.

The Ace Arrow Straightener works on all wood shafts up to 3/8 inches diameter. It straightens the shaft by compressing wood fibers on the high side to correct the bend. It is designed so that it won't harm the finish on your arrows and the straightening is permanent.

To use the Ace Arrow Straightener, place your arrow on any hard flat surface with the high side up. Now apply moderate downward pressure and simply roll the arrow straightener over the bent part of the shaft until the wood fibres are compressed enough to straighten the shaft.

Carbon Shaft Prep Tool

Here is a dandy way to make sure that the inside surface of you carbon arrow shafts are clean of any residue from your arrow cutter.

This high-quality brass brush from OMP Archery Equipment is just the right diameter for a tight fit inside standard-size carbon arrow shafts. This is the arrow prep tool we use in the NZAP Arrow Shop, and we dip it in meths before use, just to be sure.

This tool is for standard-sized carbon shafts (such as the Easton Light Speed, Gold Tip Hunter series, and the Carbon Impact FAT shafts) only and will not work on St Axis or any of the Easton Carbon ST Shafts.

Arrow-Shaft Dip Tubes

These Arrow-Shaft Dip Tubes allow you to apply a lacquer, varnish or paint finish to your arrows without worrying about over spill. The 3 inch upper tank section provides a reservoir into which the displaced finishing material rises when the shaft is inserted. Thus you can dip dozens of arrow shafts without stopping to refill.

The Big Dipper dip tube is 35" long and has a 3 inch diameter upper chamber with screw on lid and takes 1- 1/2 liters to fill. The Little Dipper dip tube is just 13 inches long for cap dipping your arrows. The Little Dipper takes just one liter of paint to fill. The tight-fitting screw-on lid allows finishing material to be stored in the tube between your arrow-making sessions.

Dip-Tube Cap W/Gaskets

This set of gaskets comes with a screw-on cap and is designed to be used with the dip tubes listed above.

Using gaskets can dramatically reduce fumes, they prevent to loss of dipping material through evaporation, and they give your arrow shafts a quality of finish that you will never achieve with a spray can or a brush.

In use, the shaft is inserted into the tube through one of the holes in the gasket. When the shaft is removed the gasket acts as a squeegee and wipes excess material from the shaft leaving a thin uniform coat of finishing material. The set includes one cap and two gaskets.
