The Arrow Squaring Device (ASD) from G5 Outdoors is the best and easiest way there is to insure that the ends of your arrow shafts, where the inserts rest against the cut shaft face, is absolutely square. The ASD is also used to square the faces of inserts so that the point also sits square to the shaft. All arrow cutters, regardless of their sophistication, can go out of calibration now and then, and inserts can easily go out of square with heavy use, so the ASD is your best bet for insuring a shaft is dead square.
To use the G5 ASD is fast and easy. First, select the cutting face you need. There is a diamond surfaced grinder for carbon shafts and a high-speed steel cutter for aluminium shafts and insert faces. Now lay the ASD flat on a table and place your arrow shaft in the grove on the top. Now simply roll the point end of the shaft into the cutter with finger pressure. You can feel the point when the cutting action starts with your finger tips. Continue to roll the shaft into the cutter until you are satisfied that enough material has been removed. The amount of material that must be removed to square the shaft will depend on how accurately it was cut in the first place, but it should never be more than a tiny fraction of a millimeter.
With the dramatic increases we have seen in the past few years in arrow speed and in carbon-arrow construction, it is increasingly important that your arrows be calibrated and tuned to the highest standards possible, if you are to realise the advantages of accuracy and precision that are a result of the newest technology. There are a few problems with using a chronograph designed for rifles to measure the speed of arrows. First you are always working at the very bottom of the speed range as most chronos are designed to measure tiny objects traveling several thousand feet per second. (not even our new Martins do that) And second, when you let your mates use it, one of them is certain to put an arrow through the sensor box or at least clear off one of the wires. Now at last we have a chrono designed strictly for archers.
Now, with the Arrowspeed Chronograph, you can quickly and easily measure true arrow speed without the cumbersome stand-mounted contraptions the rifle shooters use. The Arrowspeed uses microwave Doppler radar and is accurate to within +/- 2% from 150 to 450 feet-per-second. the bright LCD display switches reeds in hundredths or tenths of feet-per-second and mounts on a threaded adapter that screws into your stabiliser bushing.
The Arrowspeed works with any kind of arrow, wood, aluminium and carbon and uses a standard 3-volt lithium battery (included). But the important thing is that it works and you won't have to refinance the farm to buy one. With the Arrowspeed mounted on an extension of your stabiliser bushing, it is out of sight and practically impossible to hit with an arrow, and it is compact enough to fit in your kit box.

These clips mount easily to any wood, plastic, or sheet metal surface using a small screw or nail (not provided).
This is an item that has come and gone several times now from our web page as various supplies have disappeared. We now source these clips from 3 Rivers Archery, so you can count on them being available from now on.

If you are a traditional archer shooting arrows fletched with natural feathers, you know the frustration of trying to shoot in the rain or in any other conditions that result in wet feathers. This easy-to-apply powder is a water-repellant additive that protects feather fletching from the rain and snow without adding weight to your fletching. It is colorless, odorless, and it will not affect feather adhesion.
This powder will keep the feather fletchings on your arrows waterproof in rain, snow or heavy fog for the entire bowhunting season. To apply waterproofing, simply pour the powder into a plastic bag, insert the fletching end of your arrow and shake the feathers around in the powder. Now gently massage the powder into the feathers and shake again. That's all there is to it. One 9-gram pottle will waterproof about six dozen arrows.

Lisa asked for a list of tools and spares she should have for an important tournament. Here is everything that comes to mind (In no particular order):
This list may sound like a lot, but it is about the minimum when going to an important shoot that is a great distance away. In fact, I have probably omitted a few items. Of course many of the items can be shared by a group, but if the group kit doesn't have all the items above, you should take your own.
