Bow-Squares

A good Bow-Square is essential kit for anyone who is at all serious about their archery, no matter what the discipline. If it has a bow string on it, you will need a bow square. At NZAP, we even use a bow square to help set up crossbows. Most everyone knows that a bow square is used to set up a nocking point or release loop on a string, but they are also useful for many other tasks, such as checking and setting tiller on a compound or recurve bow, installing peep sights, setting sight bars to square and for leveling and truing up arrow rests. In fact it is safe to say that if you only have one tool on your archery kit, it should be a bow square.

Basically, there are two distinct types of bow squares that we carry. The most popular with our customers is the Saunders Forked Horn, which features a 5/16 inch round rod. This is perfect for setting up bows with prong-style arrow rests or with any rest when the diameter of the arrow will effect the settings. It also has a swing-away scale (reversible for right and left-hand use) that facilitates installing the nock point without removing the square.

The Carbon Express Offset Bow Square is favoured by traditional shooters and compound shooters using flipper-type rests or any rest that isn't affected by the diameter of the arrow shaft. The offset lets the square clear release loops, servings, and nock points without interference. It is also the one to use for setting and verifying your tiller settings.
