The new Dead End String Stop from Mathews archery practically eliminates residual string vibration and drastically reduces the level of noise from the release, making just about any bow quieter and more pleasant to shoot. The Dead End String Stop is not only for Mathews bows, it fits most compound bows in current production that are equipped with a rear stabilizer bushing. Installing String Stops
Installing most string stops is very easy and usually only involves simple tools and a few minutes of your time. However, there is one additional thing you can do to make the installation even better, and it could save some wear and tear on your string.
All string stops work the same by stopping any movement of the string past the point where the arrow leaves the string. This is very effective way to practically eliminate string noise but it does cause a bit of extra stress on your string where it impacts the stop. This is easily corrected by applying a few cm of serving over the string where it contacts the stop. Number 4 Nylon serving is fine for this and an single application will last for several seasons, especially if you keep it well waxed.
