Reddiex XR Feral Amimal Starter Set

Let's face it, kids take to archery like possums take to pohutukawa blossoms. Once you get them started on it, they just don't want to stop. Plus archery is one of the greatest of family-participation sports where, if you have the right equipment, everyone can join in on the fun. What better way for a family to while away a few hours of a summer afternoon than with a friendly round-robin competition to see who is the archer of the moment. What is needed, of course, is a safe, easy-to-use archery set that can be set up in the back yard, at the batch' or any other place there is a suitable backstop to prevent stray arrows from wandering into the next yard or section. Silhouette shooting has been the rage of organised target events using rifles for years. Basically, it involves knocking over life-like cutout representations of popular game animals. Participants compete to knock over the highest number of targets in the shortest time with the least number of shots. The satisfaction of hearing the solid smack of a hit followed by the appeal of watching your target go flying through the air after every hit, makes participants want to do it over and over again.

Bill Reddiex and his mates at the Archery Division of the Palmerston North Rifle, Rod and Gun Club designed the Reddiex Action Archery Silhouette Set for adults, not for kids. However it was quickly apparent that this type of archery appealed to everyone, not just adults and not just kids. If fact even people who have never drawn a bow in their lives, no matter what their age, are immediately hooked and simply don't want to stop shooting.

With all the foregoing in mind, NZAP has designed the Reddiex Action Archery Starter Set with all the basic equimment you will need to get going in this exciting new sport. The set we are presenting here includes a bow in your choice of three sizes (9-, 15- and 25-pound), two of our most popular Reddiex silhouette targets (the Rambunctious Rabbit and the Raucous Magpie), three rubber-tipped arrows, armguard and a finger guard. All you need to supply is a safe place to shoot.

The arrows we are providing with the Reddiex Action Archery Starter Set are the standard kid's arrows we provide with all of our starter sets for young people. However, we have removed the standard blunt steel tip and replaced it with a heavy rubber tip, which makes the arrow safe to use just about anywhere there is no danger of a stray arrow hitting anyone or of breaking a window. Under the right conditions, they can even be used indoors.
