The Bowhunter Laser Rangefinder from Bushnell Optics was designed by Bushnell engineers with the help of legendary American bowhunter, Chuck Adams. Besides being an excellent rangefinder, the Bowhunter incorporates Angle Range Compensation (ARC) which works by measuring the the true horizontal distance to your target when you are shooting at extreme angles either up hill or down hill. Most bowhunters realise that any shot that is more or less than horizontal can fool most normal rangefinders because they are calibrated to work on the flat only. Any miscalculation of the uphill or downhill angle for your shot can mean a miss if you don't get the true horizontal distance right. ARC technology measures both the line-of-sight distance and the angle of the shot then calculates the true horizontal distance so you instantly know which sight pin to use for the shot.
The Bushnell Bowhunter Rangefinder is dead simple to use. In Bow Mode, it will display line-of-sight distance, shot angle, and true horizontal distance at ranges from as close as five meters to as far as 100 meters-just the distances bowhunters are interested in. For ranges greater than 100 meters, the Bowhunter works like a regular rangefinder and displays the line-of-sight ranges out to 800 miters with a plus or minus one-yard accuracy. The compact vertical design features a non-slip grip and a tough rainproof case in RealTree Camo. The package includes a 3-volt CR2 battery, a handy carry case, and a security strap to go around your neck.
How can you beat a team like Bushnell and Chuck Adams? Together they have brought bow hunters the ultimate range-finding tool that combines Angle Range Compensation technology and Bow Mode to simultaneously display display all the digital readings you need to make your shot. The ultra-compact and lightweight design of the Bowhunter is a real advantage on the steep hills of the New Zealand bush. With the amazing Angle Range Compensation (ARC) feature all you do is hit the "fire" button and the Bowhunter automatically calculates the "shoots-like" distance based on the angle of your shot while it simultaneously displays line of sight, shot angle, and true horizontal distance to your target--you will never again have to quess which sight pin to use. A lanyard, 3-volt battery, and a soft case are included
