Neet archery Products was making top-quality archery armguards and other archery accessories long before compound bows can along. Half a century ago the big kids on the archery block were Bear, Ben Pearson, Wing, Martin and Hoyt. These were the giants of the industry and they produced superb recurve bows and even a few longbows.
In the 50s and 60s, these companies and the men who ran them were synonymous with archery and were the guiding lights that put archery and bowhunting as a sport back on the map. Now, with the vast majority of archery equipment being produced in the huge nameless factories in Asia, Neet continues building the finest traditional archery accessories possible in their workshop in Sedalia, Missouri, in the United States. By keeping production facilities small and local, Neet management can insure that product quality and value per archery dollar spent is maintained at the highest levels.
The Neet Traditional Arm Guards are a favourite among longbow and recurve shooters, and reflect Neet's unyielding dedication to quality at any price. The sturdy wrap-around design and thick leather padding will suit anyone looking for a little more protection from bowstring slap while the old-fashioned styling and rugged functionality will satisfy the ideals of the most hidebound traditionalists among us. No wonder that this is the armguard most often selected by SCA re-enactors looking for authentic archery accessories.
The Neet Traditional Arm Guards are is available in two sizes. The small is 6 3/8 inches long with six boot-lace-hook fasteners and the large armguard is 7 3/4 inches long with 10 boot-lace hooks for fasteners. The large size suits most adults that are average size or larger while the small is just right for younger shooters and adults of smaller stature. The small is also a good choice if you don't need a lot of arm protection and want to keep you kit lightweight without sacrificing function. Both are made from two layers of sturdy brown-suede-coloured leather and are held securely in place with elastic cord lacing that loops over the boot hooks. The finish is natural cowhide, and because cows don't all come in the same colour, the shades of the actual product may vary a bit from the illustration.
