One of the more vexing problems with buying a compound bow for a youngster has always been the tendency of the developing lad or lass the outgrow the bow faster than a the counsel can enact yet another rates increase. Most bows purchased for a ten-year-old (for example) are pretty much useless to that same young person when he or she turns 12.Another problem is that many small compound bows built for kids are shoddy and so poorly made that they are little more than toys.
Fortunately for both the kids and their parents, there have been a spate of new bows recently that solve these problems with quality-made products featuring a range of adjustability that is more than adequate to keep up with even the most aggressive growth and development of a young shooter. One of the best of these is the Hoyt Ruckus .
As you might suspect, the Ruckus is packed with up-to-date technologies. Any residual harmonic oscillation from Hoyt's famous Parallel Split-Limb System is absorbed by Alphp-Shock vibration dampers. The string and cables are made by Fuse Custom, and the amazing new VersiFlex cam offers a full ten inches of draw-length adjustability while the limbs provide an astounding thirty pounds of draw-weight adjustability.
Ruckus is available with a choice of two limb options. In the 40-pound version, draw weight range starts at ten pounds at 18 inches of draw length and goes as high as 40 pounds at 28 inches of draw length. The 50-pound Ruckus can be adjusted from a low draw weight of 20 pounds at 18 inches of draw length to a full 50 pounds at 30 inches of draw length, making Ruckus one of the most versatile youth bows on the market.
