Fred Eichler is well known to bowhunters the world over as one of the foremost champions of the recurve bow as hunting weapon of choice. Now he has teamed up with Hoyt Archery and other manufacturers to produce his Signature Series of traditional hunting equipment. Most of us have seen at least one of Fred's exciting Traditional Harvest videos that have firmly anchored his reputation as a shooter, hunter and as an entertaining videographer. The Hoyt Buffalo Recurve is the end result of a collaboration that teamed Eicher's hunting and shooting skills with the technical expertise of Hoyt, one of the largest and most respected archery manufacturers on the planet.
As you might suspect, the Buffalo is packed with interesting technical features. The Paralever limb-mounting system was borrowed form Hoyt's highly successful line of target recurves (no, the Buffalo limbs aren't interchangeable with ILF target limbs.) for a rock solid mount and fast takedown and reassembly. They didn't forget the traditional features either. There is a double-radius arrow shelf and a generous sight window for user-friendly instinctive accuracy right out of the box. The 19-inch riser is cnc machined from a solid billet of aluminium alloy.
The Buffalo can be configured in 62- and 60-inch AMO lengths by using shorter or longer limbs (NZAP Stock the 60-inch but we can order the 62 for you if you prefer) and comes standard with a calf-hair side plate and a traditional rug rest for off-the-shelf shooting. It comes in a heavy canvas bowcase and protective limb sleeves, a bow stringer and a well-crafted Flemish string. Hoyt also make a dedicated two-piece quiver for the Buffalo that is available by special order. The physical weight of the Buffalo is a mere 1.7 Pounds (that's less that one kilogram).
