Elite Outdoors LLC, which purchased the original Elite Archery company early in 2009, has quickly established a reputation for an excellent management team dedicated to developing and producing state-of-the-art compound bows designed to take advantage of all the recent advances in archery technology. Elite bows are known throughout the industry for their cutting-edge engineering, high quality, and excellent value for top-of-the-line hunting and target bows.
There are five bows in the Elite 2012 lineup, one of which is the extremely successful Hunter as introduced last year. The 2012 Hunter features the Elite ESX two-track binary cam system and three-layer laminated limbs from the world-famous structural engineers at Gordon Composites. There is also an efficient string suppressor combined with Limb-Saver Silencers that make the Hunter dead quiet to shoot. The Hunter is designed to do only two things: to put trophies on your wall and to put meat in your chiller.
Developing the new TSX cam used on the Hunter involved over 1000 hours of intense engineering, and the results prove it. The TSX Cam is a two-track, hybrid cam system featuring a amazingly smooth draw for a bow shooting over 320 FPS IBO. The unique feature of the cam is that one of the tracks carries the string while the other track carries both cables where older binary cam designs had a track for each cable. When the bow is drawn, the single track for the cables allows better centering of the cables on the axle, which in turn greatly reduces the lateral forces that cause cam lean, limb twist and torque.
The Hunter also features stainless-steel axles and sealed ball bearings for long-lasting durability. The new ESX cam features an ingenious replaceable module that allows draw-length changes from 25 to 26.5 inches with the TSX modules and from 27 to 30 inches with the ESX modules, all without compromising any performance at different draw lengths as is the case with most other modular cam systems.
With its forgiving 7.5-inch brace height and an AMO speed exceeding 320 feet per second, the Hunter is an amazingly smooth bow to draw and a very forgiving bow to shoot. This unusual combination of qualities means that the Hunter is as perfectly suited for beginning bowhunters as for the seasoned veterans, and with a compact ATA length of under 32 inches, it will also have great appeal to 3D shooters and anyone interested in a compound bow.
