Parker is famous for building world-class archery equipment, and both their terrific compound hunting bows and their crossbows are well known for their reliability and common-sense designs. Now Parker's Cyclone Express for 2010 might just be one of the best crossbows ever produced. It is lightweight and quiet, two characteristics that are crucial for a hunting crossbow, but there is more. Parker engineers have combined the best state-of-the-art technology from their top-end compound bows with the styling and rugged efficiency of today's tactical-weapons industry. The result is the 2010 Cyclone Express, a hunting crossbow that will shoot a bolt weighing 425 grains at an amazing 340 feet per second with enough kinetic energy to drop any game animal on the planet, and do it with pin-point accuracy.
The Cyclone Express contains a host of interesting and useful features like a stock that retracts into six separate shooting positions and a tactical-style Picatinney rail for the adjustable forearm (and other accessories that you might want to add). There is even a sperate safety feature that prevents dry firing the bow, and of course, the Cyclone uses the inverted-cam system that Parker engineers developed several years ago.
The first thing that first-time Cyclone Express shooters comment on is the trigger system. With zero travel or creep and a four-pound pull, it has achieved the highest level of development and recognition as the best in the industry . Besides the anti-dry-fire feature, which prevents the bow from firing when there isn't a bolt in the barrel, the Cyclone Express has a sperate automatic safety that sets into the safe position when the bow is cocked. Instead of being sperate units, the scope and trigger are mounted on a machined one-piece breech with an integral scope mount that completely eliminates and independent movement of the scope and trigger, a feature that contributes to the Cyclone's spot-on accuracy.
The Parker Cyclone design has become renowned for its adjustability. With the four-position stock and sliding vented forearm owning one is like having a crossbow custom built to your exact specifications. New for 2010 are a built-in flange on the barrel to keep your fingers away from the string, a pair of sound-deadening string stops to help reduce sound levels, and the G2 Trigger with its automatically engaged safety and anti-dry-fire feature. NZAP stock the Cyclone Express with the Parker 3X32 multi-reticle scope, but several other sight options are available on request.
