Some inexpensive bowfishing starter sets do not include a proper bowfishing arrow rest. (All the sets sold by NZAP have one, of course.) This does not mean the you should use your regular arrow rest for bow fishing. Bow fishing arrows are very heavy and they will quickly destroy most regular arrow rests. The exceptions we are aware of are the Muzzy Zero Effect, the Whisker Biscuit, and many prong-style rests.
All these rests work fine for bow fishing but you will dramatically increase the wear and tear. If you use a prong style rest, increase the spring pressure to maximum, and you will have a fine bowfishing rest.
