Innerloc Grapple Bowfishing Points

Grapple Three-Blade Bowfishing Point

The Grapple Bowfishing Point from Innerloc closes to the size of a New Zealand 10-cent piece for fast penetration and far less plane after entering the water. After the shot the Grapple blades open to a 2 3/4-inch diameter for more holding power than any competitive point.

Best of all the entire point rides behind a completely new patent-pending tip designed to grab-and-slice through the first scale it touches and create less damage on pass through for better hold on the retrieve. Plus, the tip houses a special vibration dampening insert that eliminates tips loosening during the hunt.

In testing Grapple Points outperform short-tipped, lighter heads in penetration and holding power. Reduced deflection on impact, less underwater plane, cleaner penetration, incredible holding power, full stainless-steel construction and solid-seat vibration dampening in the tip--that's the Grapple point.

Innerloc Grapple broadhead Bowfishing Points

Grapple Three-Blade Broadhead Tip

Bowfishing for big sharks and rays is a growth sport in both Australia and New Zealand with more and more of our customers headed off shore after some serious bowfishing. That has resulted in the Innerloc Grapple point listed above becoming our top-selling big-game point with an increasing number of requests for this three-blade broadhead replacement tip.

Adding the Grapple Three-Blade Broadhead Tip to your arrow turns it into a very effective killer arrow to use after your quarry has been played out to exhaustion with a striker arrow, most often a Grapple arrow without the broadhead tip. Of course the broadhead tip can also be used as the striker arrow as well.

It is good practice to rig any big-game striker arrow with a break-away point preventing the shaft from opening the wound enough for the point to pull out. Killer arrows should have the point fastened permanently to the shaft with both epoxy glue and a brass rivet.

Steel Force Gator Point Bowfishing Arrowhead

Steelforce Gator Point

Steel Force Gator Points look more like broadheads than bowfishing points and are the best penetrating points you can get anywhere for any price. The unique design of the ferrule and blade means that these terrific points won't plane under water, even when shot from the fastest compound bows. Plus the new barb system (not show on the older photo) grabs fish securely and doesn't let them twist off or pull the point.

The Steel Force Gator Point is made of stainless steel with a .055 inch-thick titanium blade that is sharpened to a fine edge. The new barbs are also titanium and are the strongest in the business. The Gator point is your perfect choice for large saltwater species such as sharks and big stingrays as well as the largest carp. There are no moving parts on the Gator point, which makes for a very durable and long-lasting bowfishing arrow.

Sting A Ree Whaler Bowfishing Point

Cajun Whaler Bowfishing Point

The Whaler Bowfishing Point is great new bowfishing arrowhead from Cajun Archery and is a further refinement of the famous Cajun Sting-A-Ree point that has been around for 50 years.

The Whaler has four barbs instead of two for double the holding power, and it is 30 grains heavier than the Sting-A-Ree making for that much better penetration. Another difference is the Whaler barbs do not fold forward, as do the barbs on the Sting-A-Ree, which makes for stronger barbs and better holding power, even if it does slow down the process of getting back into action.

The Sting-A-Ree Whaler uses the same replaceable tips as the Sting-A-Ree tournament (below) and the Muzzy Stingray (also below).

Sting a Ree Tournament Bowfishing Point

Cajun Sting-A-Ree Tournament Bowfishing Arrowhead

The Cajun Sting-A-Ree Tournament is excellent choice for a bowfishing point if you are going after the biggest fish Australia and New Zealand have to offer. This is a great point for stingrays, kingfish, sharks or other large, tough-skinned species.

The two prongs of the Sting-A-Ree Tournament point fold back for a streamlined shot then open inside the fish for a secure hold. Twist the arrow a few turns and the prongs fold forward making removal from the fish a simple and fast job. The Sting-A-Ree Tournament features a replaceable tip.

Sting-A-Ree bwofishing point from Cajun Archery

Cajun Sting-A-Ree Bowfishing Arrowhead

The Cajun Sting-A-Ree Bowfishing Arrowhead is one of the original bowfishing points and the one that helped make bowfishing so popular.

This is the same terrific point as the Sting-A-Ree Tournament above except this one doesn't have the replaceable tip and isn't quite as dear. Naturally, the Sting-A-Ree is also available as a complete arrow.

Muzzy Stingray Bowfishing point

Muzzy Stingray Bowfishing Point

Muzzy‘s Improved Stingray Bowfishing Point features a replaceable tip and extra wide bite for superior hold on strong fish with thick skins. Two twists of the arrow shaft releases the barbs so that fish can be removed quickly or your arrow retrieved from a tangled or shallow bottom.

The Muzzy Stingray is another great bowfishing point and a good choice for any New Zealand game fish including sharks and big rays. It is also available as a complete arrow, of course.

Muzzy Gator Getter Bowfishing point

Muzzy 11/32 Gator Getter Point

Let's face it! There are very few alligators in New Zealand these days, and you aren't allowed to shoot the crocodiles in Australia, but that doesn't mean that you shouldn't take a close look at the Gator-Getter bowfishing point from Muzzy. This is a heavy-duty big-game point that is just the ticket for your striker arrow when after large rays and sharks.

The Gator Getter comes with two holes pre-drilled in the body of the point. The hole closest to the point is to fashion your line or trace when rigging as a break-away striker arrow, and the hole towards the rear of the point is for a rivet or pin when the point is rigged as a killing arrow. Fits on 11/32 bowfishing shafts.

Archery Tips and Tricks from NZAP QUICK TIPS

Rigging A Big-Game Striker Bowfishing Arrow

Serious big-game bowfishing often involves two types of arrows. The striker arrow is used first to secure the target to the arrow and thus to the boat or float. The fish is then allowed to run towing the float until it tires enough to be drawn into range of the killer arrow. When a big fish is first struck, it will invariably thrash violently or even roll repeatedly. With the shaft free of the point, this thrashing won't cause the whipping about of the shaft to open the wound enough for the point to pull free, as can happen when the shaft is attached to the point.

The best striker arrows have heavy heads with strong barbs to prevent the point from pulling out of the wound while the fish makes his run. An important feature of the striker arrow is a break-away point rigged so that the point will pull free of the arrow shaft once the fish is struck (see photo gratefully borrowed from the AMS Bowfishing web site)

Killer arrows are often equipt with standard bowfishing heads designed to penetrate into the vitals of the fish, killing it as humanely and quickly as possible. Killer arrows for use on large species should have points permanently attached to the shafts with epoxy glue and a brass rivet.

Cheers and a $10.00 voucher to the crew at AMS Bowfishing.
