Here is a great idea for your quick tips section. Our local archery club has a lot of money tied up in 3D targets and I have two of the Back Yard Bucks 3D targets at home.
What we do is remove the vitals section from as many targets as we can for our practice sessions. We put a standard target butt behind the 3D target so that the arrows go through the animal target and hit the target butt behind. I do the same with my Back Yard Bucks at home.
At the club, any member who fails to shoot through the hole and sticks an arrow in the target itself has to put two bucks (money not animals) in a kitty.
The great thing about this system is that it not only saves wear and tear on our expensive targets, but it also raises cash for our annual Christmas party. It also makes you a better shot because that $2 penalty can really sharpen your concentration. Of course, for our 3D tournaments we replace the vitals section for more accurate scoring.
