Magnus Snuffer Broadheads for Bowhunters in Australia and New Zealand

Magnus Snuffer Three Blade Broadheads

The Magnus Snuffer traditional three-blade broadheads have been a mainstay among bowhunters for years. All Magnus traditional broadheads feature quality construction and are made of tough carbon steel that is copper brazed and heat treated to Rockwell hardness of 44C. And all come standard with the new Magnus Diamond Tip for improved penetration and durability and a massive 1 5/16-inch cutting diameter.

If you favour a three-blade broadhead because of the larger wound channel they make as they pass through the animal and the resulting easy-to-follow blood trail, you can't beat the Snuffer. This broadhead is long famous for its excellent flight characteristics and the massive blood trails that animals harvested with it leave, plus the fact that you can buy a packet of six heads for less than a packet of three from many other brands will cost.

NZAP have screw-on Snuffers in 125 grain and 150 grain in packets of 6 broadheads. Glue-on Snuffers are available in 100 grain and 125 grain below.

Archery Tips and tricks QUICK TIPS

Choosing A Traditional Three-Blade Broadhead

With so many choices on the market, deciding which three-blade broadhead to use with your traditional bowhunting rig can be a bit daunting. Just remember that if you shoot a traditional bow or a slower (Under 280 FPS IBO) compound bow, the cheapest one we sell (the venerable Del-Ma) can be made to fly just as straight as the most expensive ( the G5 Montec CS )but be prepared for a lot more work. The inexpensive heads must be mounted on an adapter, spun for straightness, weighed for consistency, then carefully sharpened. Plus you should be prepared to reject the odd one that just won't go on the shaft properly. (Use that one for possums)

If you take the time to do it right, you will have an inexpensive broadhead that will outperform the most expensive on the market.

If you are shooting a modern compound bow with an IBO speed over 280FPS, the above tuning procedure for the less-expensive broadheads will still have a profound effect on accuracy, but the more modern and more expensive designs of heads will still have a distinct advantage over the older (and usually cheaper) ones. This is because as speed increases, the steering effect of any flat surfaces is increased many times over. Modern broadhead designers make extra effort to minimise flat surfaces and to make the ones that can't be eliminated as aerodynamically efficient as possible.
