Muzzy Three-Blade Broadheads

The Muzzy Three-Blade broadheads are the most popular replaceable-blade broadhead in New Zealand. They feature a positive lock that keeps the blades in place when the bead is removed from the shaft and a replaceable Trocar tip.

We carry this popular broadhead in three weights: 75 grains with a 1-inch cutting diameter, 100 grain with a 1 3/16-inch cutting diameter, and 125 grain which also cuts a 1 3/16-inch hole. Each packet contains a complementary set of three practice blades (enough to do one broadhead)

Muzzy Four-Blade Broadheads

The Muzzy Four-Blade broadheads are not nearly so popular in New Zealand as the three-blade. However, they do have a dedicated following. We have been getting more and more requests for them so we have decided to add them to our on-line catalogue.

Like the three-blade heads above, the four-lade heads feature a positive lock that keeps the blades in place when the head is removed from the shaft and a replaceable Trocar tip. We carry this four-blade version in two weights, 90 grains with a 1-inch cutting diameter and 125-grain which cuts a 1 1/8-inch hole.

Muzzy Four-Blade Broadheads are sold in packets of six broadheads each in two sizes: 90 grain, and 125 grain.

Muzzy MX-3 Three-Blade Compact Broadheads

The Muzzy MX-3 three-Blade Compact Broadhead has a shorter profile than the other Muzzy three-blade heads and it has a generous 1.25 inch cutting diameter that is 1/16th inch larger. The MX-3 has uses tough .025"-inch-thick stainless-steel blades, which are .005 inch thicker than the other blades. This advanced design allows the MX-3 to fly more accurately and faster while delivering more killing power to the target.

As compound bows become faster and more sophisticated the best broadheads do the same. The MX-3 is a NZAP Best Bet for parallel-limb compound bows shooting arrows at speeds unimagined only a few years ago.

The MX-4 uses tough .025"-inch-thick stainless-steel blades, which are .005 inch thicker than the other blades. Muzzy Phantom Four-Blade Broadheads

Looking for a tough and dependable cut-on-contact broadhead but can't decide between a traditional fixed-blade design and a replaceable-blade design? Well the Phantom might be the answer to your search because it is both of these things and more.

Phantom Broadheads are engineered for strength and are proven performers on some of the heaviest big-game species in the world, including elk and moose. The ultra-tough, resharpenable .040" primary blade cuts instantly on impact to drive deep into thick skin and muscle. And the patented, replaceable .028" secondary blade guarantees massive blood trails. Single-piece ferrules ensure lasting integrity.

Phantom broadheads have stainless-steel primary blades fixed to an aluminium ferrule. The primary blade, with a wide 1-1/8" cutting diameter, does most of the work and is really a traditional cut-on-contact two-blade head with a slot for a bleeder blade.

The bleeder, which is also stainless steel, locks firmly into place when the head is screwed onto the arrow. Phantom primary blades are easily re-sharpened and the bleeder blades are easily replaced. Or use the Phantom without the bleeder and you have an efficient and lightweight two-blade head capable of taking any game animal in New Zealand or Australia. Muzzy Washers for Phantom Broadheads

These washers are used between the arrow shaft and the broadhead on Easton ST Axis and Easton FMJ arrows. They prevent the bleeder blade from being forced back into the carbon shaft. They aren't necessary on most carbon arrows because the lip on the insert secures the bleeder blade. Each packet contains six washers and they fit both 100 and 125 grain Phantoms.

Replacement Blades for Muzzy Broadheads

Naturally, the big advantage to using replaceable-blade broadheads is that when the blades get dull or bent, you simply install a new set and keep hunting. No need to sharpen them at all. Another advantage is that you can replace your sharp hunting blades with a set of aeronautically designed practice blades that are guaranteed to fly just like your hunting blades but will be a lot easier on your target and will be easier to remove from foam target (or any other type of target for that matter).

The blades on Muzzy broadheads are particularly easy to renew as they replace from the front. This means that you don't have to remove your broadhead from the arrow shaft in order to replace the blades, as is the case with many other brands.

Practice Blades for Muzzy Broadheads

These dull replacement blades are bevelled for easy removal from you target and are designed to fly exactly the same as broadheads with the regular blades. Each packet of replacement blades contains enough replacement blades to do six broadheads.
