Cover Your Face Whilst Bowhunting Cheers and a $10 NZAP Voucher to Rob from Christchurch Ironically the part of the human body most easily seen in any light is the part most often neglected when selecting camo clothing. This is, of course, the face, which will glow like a beacon if not covered with a head net or camo face paint. This was brought home recently on a bowhunting trip in the hills west of Christchurch with two mates. All three of us had full camo clothing but only one of us was wearing a headnet. We split up to cover both sides of a long wide gully. About two hours later I paused to scan the opposite bank with my 10X Swarovski binos looking for my mates. I spotted the first mate immediately about a kilometer away, but couldn't find the second, even after a diligent scan of the entire hillside. It was all open tussock so I knew he had to be there somewhere. He turned out to be standing only ten meters from the first. I'll leave you to figure which one had his face covered. |
