QUICK TIPSEnhancing your Ghillie Suit The ghillie suit sold here is terrific camouflage right out of the box, however, it is easy to make it even better. Once you reach your hunting block, gather a handful or two of samples of the local plant life (ferns, leaves, grasses, and twigs all work well) and weave these into the fabric of your suit. Some jute twine and a sacking needle will be a great help here and the twine will be easy to remove when the hunt is over. The local plants will further enhance the profile-hiding effect of the suit whilst adding an element of local colour that will better blend into the background. This works particularly well when hunting in open terrain where a few bunches of the local grasses incorporated into your suit can greatly enhance your ability to disappear. In case you are wondering where the name of this suit comes from, ghillies were Scottish game keepers who were the first to use this kind of camouflage. |
